Colin Robertson, Michael Gowans, Nicholas Guest, Peter Kydd, Niall Menzies, and Evelyn Menzies are all brain injury survivors from Headway groups across Scotland. In November 2024, they took on the extraordinary challenge of reaching Everest Base Camp to demonstrate that, despite the obstacles they’ve faced, there is always hope, life, and support after brain injury. Many of these individuals were told by medical professionals that they would never walk again or lead a "normal" life. Yet, through their determination and resilience, this inspirational team successfully achieved their goal, proving the power of perseverance and the possibility of recovery.
